Abstract: The Machine is a favorite metaphor for the human element. In some way we are all trapped in our existence and our life is wrapped into the lives of others. In this project, students from High Tech High in San Diego, CA created a mechanism and then wrote a poem that is motivated by, or representative of, the mechanism.
Academic Context: This mini project is an introduction to writing poetry, designing in Adobe Illustrator, laser-cutting, and critique. This project has been exhibited at several maker events in Southern California.
